We have a daughter!
The story goes…… It will be two weeks tomorrow or 6-27-07 if you’d like that Sarah had her 40 Week checkup. We went in at 9:45am only to find out that her blood pressure went way up. The doctor came in and said that it was time to go to the hospital and they would induce her. We went home and grabbed out bags then headed for the hospital. We got to the hospital at 11:30am. At about 3pm they started the inducing process by giving Sarah petocin. The doc came in at 6pm and decided Sarah’s contractions weren’t puting her in enough pain and that she would do something about it, so she broke sarah’s water. They continued to monitor her and the baby when they noticed that the babies heart rate would drop down to the 50’s when Sarah was having contractions. They figured it was that the baby wasn’t handling the labor very well and was being stressed. At 11pm they decided that it was time to consider the C-section option. Sarah agreed and within min they had her all preped and ready for surgery. At 12:18 AM on June 28th 2007 Sarah and I were told we have a healthy baby girl. Amazing!!! It’s real, we are parents. Kendel Rose Gocken was just a little peanut weighing in at 5 pounds 7 ounces and 17 inches long.
Man how time flies, day blend into one another once you have a baby living with you. From Thursday morning till Sunday afternoon when we got to leave the hospital it seemed like no time went by. Its now almost 2 weeks later and it still only seems like yesterday.
Sarah, Kendel and I are all doing very well. Sarah and I are having fun trying to learn what Kendel wants and when she wants it. I have posted pictures up on my website if you’d like to see. http://www.b-radslinks.com/photo_gallery/Photos_of_Kendel_Rose.htm
